7 June 2014

I went out today on a scouting trip. I wanted to see what the Spotted seatrout (speckled trout or specks) were up to. There was a 10-knot wind coming out of the Northeast and a nice current was flowing.

I threw out a grub and caught a trout. I threw out again and caught another. Both of these fish were over 14 inches long. Laira fished with me today and she also caught nice fish. Her first fish was 18½ inches and her second one was 16. These fish were all caught on artificial baits. We can start keeping them this Sunday, 15 June. We also caught some flounder tossing trout jigs.
