Inshore Fishing Report

I took Dan, Renee, Thomas, and Allison on an OBX sound fishing trip today. They wanted something for the deep fryer and they got it.

We looked for flounder first and Renee hooked up with a 14.75-inch fish fairly quickly. It went downhill for flatties from there. We caught 4–5 more but they progressively got shorter and shorter.

We moved to a Weakfish hole and scored one 14 incher. Two more moves and the bite was slow. I moved again and found some fish. There was a strong sea mullet bite and there were some nice ones in the mix. We also caught some Bluefish, a few croakers, and some Spot. There was a brief flurry of stingrays at slack tide as well. Allison learned how to bring in a strong fish on light tackle with the pump and reel technique. She was quite pleased with herself.

It was a great trip with great folks. I hope you enjoyed your meals!
