Inshore Fishing Report

On one of my afternoon OBX fishing trips for kids, Jesse, Marchelle, and their four kids wanted to try a little clamming but the wind prevented us from going to my favorite spots. It would have been okay on the ride there, but rough and wet on the ride back. We decided to go fishing in calmer water instead.

The older kids (Noah and Logan) started catching fish but the younger two (Jack and Grant) were not, so I did a little coaching. Jack was a quick study and he was casting and catching fish in no time. Grant's lesson was next and he too started catching fish.

In addition to fish, we caught loads of Blue crabs on our baits so we decided to throw out a few crab lines. We continued to catch them on the fishing rods but got no love from the crab lines. Weird.

It was a great trip with an awesome family. Everybody helped each other and there were baits in the water at all times. I love it when everybody is so into it!
