Warren and his brother Brenden went on a fishing charter with me last year and we did well on trout. This year was a little different. We started casting and caught some flounder and Warren caught his first Red drum. It was small but a drum nonetheless. I mentioned that a nice speck would give him an inshore slam. We fished all over and we fished hard. Brenden caught a trout and I caught a trout but Warren still needed one for his slam.

We went to a favorite spot of mine and this time, while they casted, I put out some live baits under bobbers. I put them into rod holders and told the guys to keep an eye on them. One went down immediately and turned into a 16-inch speck. Warren had his trout and earned his slam. We caught nine more speckled trout like this up to 19 inches. We also caught as many Bluefish.

They brought home three fish and had them for lunch within a couple hours of being caught. Good job on hooking all of those fish and good job on only taking what you will use. These guys love to fish and I hope I get a chance to show them Oregon Inlet next time.
