Fishing Report
Today three generations of John Meck (although the youngest one goes by Jack) went on an Outer Banks sound fishing charter with me.
They had fished with me a few years ago and we had a good day throwing jigs at bridge pilings for trout. Due to a couple of bad winters, the specks are scarce this year and not worth targeting. We went to the inlet instead. We barely got one nice flounder drift when the tide stopped running so we switched up to fish the bridge for Sheepshead. No luck. We went to a grey trout hole and failed to connect. We left there and went bottom fishing with pretty good results. It was just one of those days. It was okay though because these guys fished hard the whole time and were fun to hang out with. Jack got a lot of practice and was casting like a pro by the trip’s end. I think he caught two dozen fish in all.
