Columbia High School's Official Fishing Club, Columbia, NC

22 June 2020: Captain Lenny retired from teaching in 2020. This club is closed indefinitely.

The goal of this club was to promote a love of the outdoors through fishing.

The Wildcat Anglers

Columbia High's Wildcat Anglers was a fishing club for students in grades 9 through 12. The club met once a month when Mr. Leta taught on topics that every angler needs to know, including rig making, rod repair, reel maintenance, knot tying, and fresh and saltwater fishing techniques.

Club members were given the opportunity to participate in fun activities such as casting contests, pier fishing, surf fishing, freshwater fishing in ponds and rivers, and Outer Banks inshore fishing from Mr. Leta's 24-foot Carolina Skiff™.

❝The club relied on fundraisers that we held at school plus the donations of time and equipment from tackle stores and other organizations, both local and national. Many thanks to all our sponsors and supporters through the years!❞
