Hop on board and enjoy Outer Banks fly fishing in the beautiful sounds.
Opportunities abound for fly fishing on the Outer Banks. The sounds hold good quantities of Red drum, Speckled trout, Striped bass, and Bluefish eager to accept your offerings.
Patterns imitating eels, shrimp, and baitfish will all stimulate bites. Clouser minnows and anything that resembles silversides or jumping mullet will be effective choices. Deer hair bugs and poppers are a blast to use when the fish are aggressive and feeding on surface offerings. Some of the more productive flies are a bit heavy so a nine-weight rod is a smart choice. However, a seven or eight weight will do quite nicely. Most of the fishing is underwater so sinking lines with a weight-forward tip are preferred but floating lines have their place as well.
Sawgrass Guide Service provides tackle for spinning or trolling but does not supply fly fishing equipment. Bring your favorite set up along and enjoy some inshore saltwater fly fishing on your next visit to the Outer Banks.
