Oregon Inlet

Last week was fun but it started off very, very windy. It was blowing 25 and gusting over 30 Monday afternoon. The winds finally settled down and we got a lot of kid's fishing trips in. It was a week of variety and the list of species was impressive. Some of the Kingfish (sea mullet) were large and went home with some folks for supper. One morning we caught a nice limit of trout on both live bait and jigs.

Dolphins were harder to spot in the rougher water but we saw a few here and there. There was one day when we saw a line of them several hundred yards long and it included lots of mothers with babies at their sides.

The Osprey nests are full of babies and there will soon be baby pelicans in all of the bushes at some of the sand islands around the inlet.

Lots of things to do and look at on an OBX Kid's Soundside Adventure. Come check us out.
